Early Education
At the age of six my father was working away and my mother went to University to study to be a teacher and hence I started Boarding School. I was proud of my school and the nuns took great care of me.
I was able to continue my education in the Private Sector by winning an Academic Scholarship and a Performing Arts Scholarship. I had the responsibility to show prospective parents and students around the school and was expected to perform well in exams and perform in all the school plays. I attended a separate Drama School at weekends and performed for both schools. My main skills were singing and acting however I also took Modern Dance. I have British Theatre and Dance Certificates dated 1996.
School plays have included:
Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat
Alice in Wonderland - I played the Queen of Hearts
Oliver - I played Nancy on one occasion and Fagin on another
Grease - I played one of the Pink Ladies
For the opening of a new Theatre in Brecon I auditioned for a part in 'The Ring and the Piglet' and was successful. The production ran for 2 months and I was well reviewed in the Brecon and Radnor paper.
I performed at many Eisteddfodi in Wales and received several First Prizes and Second Prizes for Singing and playing the Harp.
When I went to the Czech Republic I was asked to sing for the production of a school CD showcasing the talent in the school. I sang a Czech song called Harfy v Nebi (Harp in the Clouds) with the help of some accent training from the Music teacher. You can listen to the song by clicking on the video below. I also recorded several audio books for the school.
